Cannabis for Holistic Healing

In spite of all the good evidence about Cannabis, fear-based thinking remains a part of our cultural consciousness.  Propaganda has spread the idea that Cannabis is somehow dangerous for adults.

Consider this: 250,000 people have died in alcohol related accidents in the past 10 years.  Over 47,000 Canadians die as a result of taking prescription medicines every year.  0 have died from direct cannabis use.

Cannabis has little direct effect on the body.  It “switches on” our own immune system, which heals the body via the endocannabinoid system.

Cannabis provides a calming effect, anti-inflammatory properties, and creates an internal environment that is conducive to healing.  Cannabis may contribute to Rest & Digest states of being, by supporting Vagal Nerve tone; and by supporting the parasympathetic nervous system, which releases us from Flight or Fight responses (stress).

Medical Cannabis is taken from healthy, chemical-free plants, which supply hundreds of medicinal components, called cannabinoids. These are meant to work together forming a cascade healing effect.

There are 104+ different cannabinoids in Cannabis, including: THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, THCv, CBGa, CGCa, CBCa, THCa, CBDa, (and about 100 more), terpenoids & flavonoids, nitrogenous compounds, and other more common plant molecules.  These components work together to stimulate our own immune responses via the endocannabinoid system.  We are all born with CB1 & CB2 receptor sites, which naturally develop within our bodies.  CB1 and CB2 receptor sites are there to receive both endocannabinoids (naturally produced by the body) and cannabinoids (found in Cannabis).

In short, Medical Cannabis assists the body to heal itself.
