Consider Medical Cannabis Therapy (MCT) If:

  • you have health issues, and you have tried to find relief through conventional medicine without success;
  • you have explored your options, and prefer a holistic approach to your health;
  • even though Cannabis is now legal in Canada for recreational use, you would like to try it as medicine;
  • you want to use or make edibles and topicals for your medical condition, and will need more than 30 grams at a time for processing;
  • you have tried Medical Cannabis Therapy (MCT) and it has helped to improve your quality of life
  • you want to detoxify from synthetic pharmaceutical drugs

This 20 minute consultation will provide basic support, information, and will answer a few of your initial questions.

Best Use

Like most plant-based medicines, (and for best results), Medical Cannabis products should be absorbed by the digestive system as “edibles”.  It can also be absorbed through your skin as “topicals”, and lungs as “puffables”.

During Medical Cannabis Therapy (MCT), the body and mind soon adjust to the soothing sensations.  Micro-dosing “edibles” throughout the day allows you to develop tolerance.  As with any strong pain medication, there is an initial euphoric high which diminishes with repeated use.  Unlike pharmaceuticals, cannabis tolerance does not diminish the anti-inflammatory and other potent healing properties of this medicine.

Cannabis is a nutraceutical, and the healing properties can easily be extracted into a healthy fat (medium chain triglycerides) like coconut oil, ghee or butter; is used in cooking and baking, and is ingested (eaten) to produce an overall systemic effect.  This product can also be applied topically to relieve pain and inflammation in specific areas, without adding to the high.

Cannabis can be smoked, but why add 2,000+ toxic chemicals (produced through combustion) when you can use a vapourizer?  A vapourizer releases the medicinal ingredients found in Cannabis within a warm moisture vapour which is inhaled, usually through a tube.  There are quite a few models out there, but some are not easy to maintain.  I have used many different models over the years and can make recommendations regarding brands and what to watch out for.

Cannabis Products

I do not prescribe or sell medical cannabis or its products.

However, for those of you who hold prescriptions, Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes (ACMPR) licenses, or have already decided to use cannabis for medical purposes, I have some sound advice regarding safety and effective use strategies.  It makes sense to reduce the harm that may occur from using this medicine, and to maximize the effectiveness of this medicine.

I can provide information for the first time user about common strains, how to fill out the ACMPR forms, how to find a prescribing physician, and advice on how to approach your doctor about the prescription.
